Jonathan Pratschke is Associate Professor in Economic Sociology at the University of Naples, where he lectures on the Sociology of Work. His research interests are centred on the study of social and spatial inequalities in relation to health, the labour market and education using advanced statistical modelling techniques. He has worked in a consulting role with a number of public and private bodies in Ireland, the UK and Italy, developing tools for the development, monitoring and evaluation of policies in the arena of social inclusion. He has published in peer-review journals such as Ageing and Society (“Direct and Indirect Influences of Socio-Economic Position on the Wellbeing of Older Adults: A Structural Equation Model Using Data from the First Wave of the Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing”), BMC Medical Research Methodology (“Mechanisms and Mediation in Survival Analysis: Towards an Integrated Analytical Framework”), Environment and Planning B (“A Longitudinal Study of Area-level Deprivation in Ireland, 1991-2011”), European Societies (“Female employment and the economic crisis”) and Urban Studies (“Social polarisation, the labour market and economic restructuring in Europe: an urban perspective”).
