In the article “How much cash would it take for you to quit your job“, published on the Financial Times on 4 July 2024, Soumaya Keynes discusses research by CSEF Director Tullio Jappelli and his coauthors Dimitris Georgarakos, Geoff Kenny and Luigi Pistaferri, on how labor supply choices respond to windfall gains, based on a large survey of euro area consumers who were asked what they would do if they received sums ranging from €3,000 to €100,000. The research appeared in CSEF Working Paper no. 682 on “Labor Supply Response to Windfall Gains“.
